The beauty of a handheld gaming PC is its size and that it's also a full PC. The downside is that, unlike a laptop, you need to accessorize in order to achieve productivity status.
A Nintendo Switch 2 may well have a 'mouse' now, but you're not going to use it to bang out some emails and spreadsheets on the train.
I've had a Steam Deck since the very beginning, and as an open fan of Linux, I'm more than happy using it as a PC as well as a handheld games machine. Razer has now released a new product to go with one of its existing products that's particularly useful for the former.
Unlike everything else Razer makes, it doesn't have some wild monicker. It's simply the Razer Travel Case Folio, and it's designed to transport your favorite portable keyboard and prop up your favorite portable device.
Nothing overly fancy, but in the case of handhelds, it's actually pretty nifty.
Compatible with both the Razer Joro and Apple Magic Keyboard, this simple product is perfect for using with a tablet or a handheld gaming PC thanks to its sturdy kickstand.
The keyboard part is designed primarily around the Razer Joro wireless keyboard, which I have, and is the only keyboard I ever travel with in conjunction with my Steam Deck. The box also says it's a seamless fit with Apple's Magic Keyboard, if you're so inclined.
As yes, one of the reasons you'd want to buy this case is if you're an iPad owner (other tablets are also available). It'll support up to a 13-inch tablet to use with your keyboard, as the back of the case opens up in a manner regulars in these parts will be familiar with.

I have to say I'm surprised at how sturdy it is. It has zero struggle propping up my hefty Valve handheld, and in the same vein as a Surface kickstand, you can adjust your angle to suit.
The keyboard doesn't lock into place or anything, but it's secure when the case is closed, kept in snug by the magnetic closing flap. I also like that there's a cutout on the case to connect a charger without needing to open it up. One is for the Joro, and one is more centralized for Apple's keyboard.
One small gripe I have though, and it is only small, is that the cutout for Razer's own Joro could have been a little larger or had a secondary one for the power switch. I never remember to turn the keyboard off, and every single time I've pressed something as I've packed it away, and that translates to something happening on the screen.

So I have to get it out again, open up the case, turn off the keyboard, and pack it all back up. And no, after many, many times of doing this, I still haven't remembered.
It's a really nice product though. Spill resistant on the outside, soft and protective on the inside, and it works better than I expected as a kickstand for a handheld. Even with my Steam Deck in a case, it will still stand up just fine. Perfect for those of us who don't have a Legion Go.
At $55.99 from the Razer Store, it's not that expensive, either. Obviously, if you don't have one of the two keyboards it's built for, then it's probably not worth it, but given that the Razer Joro is a $140 portable keyboard, it's worth the investment. I think I'm more surprised it took this long.

I've been using Razer mice for decades, and have tested dozens upon dozens of iterations of the firm's products. I'm also a dedicated MMORPG and MOBA player on PC, flipping between games like World of Warcraft and Heroes of the Storm as seasons wax and wane.
For the Warcraft-faithful, I play a Demonology Warlock, which has been simplified over the years, but in previous expansions I had anywhere up to 30+ keybinds for playing the class effectively in PvE and PvP. It was a bit like learning a musical instrument back in the day, particularly when you throw in battle potions, trinkets and other additional buttons.
As such, I've tended towards Razer mice with extra inputs to make my gaming life easier. I had no idea how much easier it was going to get until I went palm-on with the new Razer Naga V3 Pro — which is quite easily one of the best mice of 2026.

Razer also doubled down on durability with reinforced molding processes for the switches, which the firm says will now last up to and potentially beyond 100 million actuations.
The obvious headline feature is the magnetic button plates that can be customized at will, adding between two, six, and twelve additional buttons. Razer has also included a uniquely configurable scroll wheel that comes with haptic feedback capabilities.
The mouse goes into general availability on August 11, 2026, and will set you back $179.99 from Best Buy in the United States.

The Razer Naga range has long been designed with MMO and MOBA gameplay in mind, adding a huge amount of additional inputs via a unique magnetic side plate feature.
Razer has enhanced the force of the magnets to ensure it feels well and truly part of the mouse when connected, and I can say without doubt that it well and truly does. The buttons can be programmed at will using Synapse, and modified further with a ring-finger button that defaults to Razer's dedicated "Hyper Shift" modifier key. Of course, all of these can be reconfigured too.
What struck me immediately when going palm-on was the new scroll wheel. Razer has included some unique functionality here that I've not experienced previously in other mice. You can set it to free-wheeling mode, which allows it to quite literally spin indefinitely under its own weight. There's also a standard step-stop function that most users will be familiar with, but also a precision-stop feature that adds some haptic feedback and shortens the actuation for rapid hot bar or weapon switching with more forceful control.
There is a parade of other buttons and functions too. The DPI rates have been placed in the top right corner of the mouse out of the way, requiring a little more intent to reach to prevent accidents, I suppose. There are two buttons below the scroll wheel, and the scroll wheel itself can be tilted and clicked for additional inputs too.
It sports 155 hours of battery life out of the box, and supports Razer's new Mouse Dock as well as its wireless Hyper Flux charging mouse mat. Either plugged in or connected to a compatible Hyper Speed dongle, this bad boy can go all the way up to 8,000 Hz. You will not be left wanting for speed.

How does it feel to actually use, though? I dropped into a couple of World of Warcraft raids and played a few games of Heroes of the Storm to get a feel for it, but it was in games like Age of Empires where it truly felt transformative.
As noted, you can add up to 12 extra buttons with the side plate feature. It does take some getting used to, and I think Razer could've perhaps done a bit more to help differentiate the keys, particularly on the 12-button plate. The six button plate felt like the sweet spot for me, given that the profile of the buttons made them easier to memorize, but also I didn't find it as hard to squeeze my thumb backwards to hit the keys closest to my palm.
Indeed, you might struggle with this mouse if you don't have the most flexible hands. I found its palm hump to be a bit tall for my tastes (small ass hands maybe, or perhaps poor desk ergonomics on my end), but overall it was incredibly comfortable. I suspect most people won't have any issues with it. I also suspect that it was designed quite intentionally to be "palm grippy" to facilitate the fact users will be reaching for buttons on the side more often than on other mice.

There are probably neuroscientific reasons for this, but it does feel genuinely more intuitive to actuate inputs on the same hand as your movement intentions. Perhaps it stems from my console-oriented history in some ways, but I found it a lot easier to drop Guldan's ult with a mouse swipe and mouse click, as opposed to lining up my mouse with a keyboard press.
For Age of Empires, it was particularly fun binding various quick keys directly to the mouse. Assigning regiments, bypassing certain menus, and being able to select specific units instantly from anywhere won't make up for my lack of skill with RTS, but it did boost the fun factor.
Razer Synapse is a fantastic piece of software that ties everything together. It's still better than solutions from other companies by a country mile. Configure RGB lighting, set up profiles for specific games, configure literally all the things — quick and easy.

Some of the less useful features include Razer's macro functionality, which will sadly get you banned in a lot of online games for "automation."
The Naga V3 Pro also comes with an AI assistant key by default, which lets you bind certain Copilot prompts to mouse inputs for some reason. You can turn it off, but it's 2026 so everything has to have some kind of "AI" feature in it apparently, even if it's effectively useless. Perhaps this might become more useful if Microsoft ever ships agents to consumers, but as for right now it feels like boardroom fluff. Thankfully, that's the only "feature" here I could describe as such. Practically everything else is genuinely useful and represents a demonstrable upgrade.
There is a lot of functionality in the Razer Naga V3 Pro, and you won't need all of it all of the time. It is designed primarily for people who want maximum control over their games, and indeed, it is priced as such.

The Razer Naga V3 Pro is a tour de force of functionality, with unmatched versatility for practically every genre of game you can throw at it. FPS, RTS, MOBA, MMORPG, and beyond — even the most control-complex games fall before the Naga and its capacity to inject intuitiveness into the least intuitive games and control schemes possible.
But yes, it will require configuring to get there. That's ultimately who it's designed for, though; people who play more complex games to a hardcore level, and want their peripherals to reflect their desire to configure and control their experience.
You should buy this if ...
✅ You play complex input-heavy games like MMORPGs and RTS.
✅ You like to configure your controls to the nth degree.
✅ You prefer your inputs on your mouse, rather than your keyboard.
You should not buy this if ...
❌ You find configuring keybinds exhaustive and annoying.
❌ You have particularly small hands (you might find its height uncomfy).
❌ Price might be a concern.
This will become my default mouse moving forward. Being able to effectively keybind number keys 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, etc. without needing to physically reach away from WASD is a big boost in some games I play.
However, I am cognizant of the fact that I got the review unit here. Almost $200 for a mouse is tough to justify unless you're particularly passionate about the functionality the Razer Naga V3 Pro is going to provide for you. For configuration enthusiasts, there's well and truly nothing better than the Razer Naga V3 Pro right now.

The ROG Strix OLED XG32UQWMS gaming monitor is planned for release in September 2026. ASUS provided a sample, but the company had no input on the article nor saw its contents before publishing.
OLED gaming monitors have been around for a while, but concerns about text clarity and burn-in left me less excited to buy something like the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG32UQWMS. Given the chance to test an upcoming model from its range shown at Computex earlier this year, I couldn't resist, and my review could be the moment that helps me overcome my apprehension. Here's what I learned.

I'm a big fan of toolless setups wherever they appear, and ASUS ROG wins points for delivering a straightforward process here. Everything hinged on a push-button release mechanism that either gripped the stand or the VESA mount; I used the former and attached the footplate with a simple thumbscrew.

The display alone weighs 9.92 lbs (4.5 kg), and adding the VESA mount brings the total to 10.64 lbs (4.83 kg) in a mounted setup. Otherwise, the foot plate and strut together weigh 4.54 lbs (2.06 kg), controlling height with a sturdy but not overly stiff response. On my desk, the monitor is 14.46 lbs (6.56 kg) overall.

Attaching the stand gave me a clear view of the ports and navigation via the multi-function button (MFB) located behind the bottom-mounted ASUS ROG logo and its accompanying "Neo" proximity sensor. It's a pretty standard affair that matches rival brands, and its controls should feel familiar to most people.
While there are two HDMI 2.1 ports, a pair of USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 with a hub port, and a headphone jack, there's only a single DisplayPort cable in the box for its matching DP 1.4 port, along with the AC cord. Bundling a free USB-B cable shouldn't be too expensive, and I'm disappointed to see it missing here.

Moving from a 27-inch IPS Alienware monitor to an OLED panel made its benefits immediately obvious, with an experience similar to the one I get from my LG C2 TV in the living room. High contrast, deep blacks, and crisp visuals come with its 4K resolution and that smooth 240Hz refresh rate. Windows 11 adjusted my settings accordingly, and the monitor looks great out of the box.
The UHD @ 240Hz mode looks fantastic, and I'm left wondering who would ever want to switch to 1080p for the sake of 480Hz on a 32-inch display.

Up close, the clarity of on-screen text looks fine; nothing particularly groundbreaking, but nothing looks noticeably fringed when I sit at a comfortable distance in UHD mode. Adjusting ClearType in Windows 11 might give results that better suit you, but I didn't feel like anything looked out of place during my usual daily work and gaming.
The OSD is at least easy to navigate, and I could install the DisplayWidget Center if I really wanted to use a mouse to tweak several settings at once. Otherwise, the "TrueBlack Glossy" panel looks significantly darker at a glance than the other screens in my office, which certainly helps with the deep blacks OLED is famous for, and I found the visible room reflections were tolerable.
Testing the display
Out of the box, the XG32UQWMS defaults to "Racing mode", hitting 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut as advertised, and sRGB accuracy earns a perfect score, while Adobe RGB maxes out at 93%. Without changing settings, a 100% brightness level reached around 306 to 311 nits, so getting it to 330 nits will require a bit of tweaking. On the whole, I'm satisfied with its stock settings.

A built-in presence sensor probably sets off alarm bells for some gamers, but the proximity detection is literally there to help protect this OLED panel by switching off when you walk away. That, along with adjustments to uniform brightness and pixel-cleaning settings, helps prevent burn-in, which was my biggest concern with monitors like these. ASUS definitely could have thrown in a free upstream USB cable for its hub, but the display itself is solid, so it still wins praise.

The Steam Machine has swappable faceplates, which is a genuinely good idea that Valve doesn’t appear to have fully exploited. The concept is essentially that the front panel of the console is a blank cosmetic slate, open to third parties and hobbyists to design around. So far, most of what’s been proposed has leaned on that word: cosmetic. Different textures, different graphics, different visual personalities for what is otherwise a matte black gaming cube.
This faceplate mod takes a different approach by asking what the panel could actually do. The result is a replacement front cover that integrates a charging cradle for the Steam Controller directly into the face of the console, turning what would normally be dead real estate into a functional docking station. Set the controller down, it charges. Pick it up, it’s ready. No separate charging puck dangling off to the side.
The charging mechanism uses the Steam Controller’s own wireless puck seated inside the faceplate cradle, with a USB cable routed discreetly around the inside edge of the panel and into one of the Steam Machine’s existing USB ports. It’s a routing solution rather than a rewiring one, which keeps the electrical side simple and reversible. The puck sits in the cradle, the controller sits on the puck, and the whole arrangement slots onto the front of the machine like any other faceplate.
What makes it more than a wall mount with ambition is the kickstand built into the rear of the panel. It folds out from the back of the faceplate, propping the cradle up at an angle, turning the entire assembly into a standalone desk dock that works independently from the Steam Machine. Take the faceplate off the console and prop it up on a table, and it functions as a charging stand on its own terms.
The inspiration came partly from Valve’s own demonstration of an e-ink faceplate, which showed that the panel slot was capable of doing more than holding a decorative cover in place. That demonstration didn’t ship as a product, but it established the idea that the faceplate system had functional potential beyond aesthetics. This mod picks up that thread and takes it somewhere more immediately useful for anyone who has both pieces of Valve’s current hardware sitting on the same desk.
Design files haven’t been released yet, and there are no confirmed plans to sell finished units. The prototype is out, it works, and it raises a question worth asking about Valve’s approach to the faceplate ecosystem: if a single modder can turn the front panel into a functioning charging dock over a weekend, what would a dedicated accessory program actually look like at scale?
Anyone who has seen K-Pop Demon Hunters or an episode of a Korean historical drama is familiar with what a gat is. Even if you don’t know what it’s actually called, it’s pretty recognizable: the black hat with its cylindrical crown and wide, dramatic brim that sometimes hides the eyes or even the entire face. It was traditionally worn by men of high social standing during the Joseon era, serving as a marker of Confucian values, refinement, and status. It’s rarely worn now unless someone is shooting a drama or attending some sort of costume party, though the gat did have a major pop culture moment thanks to Netflix’s Kingdom, where it became instantly iconic worldwide.
The National Museum of Korea called for designers to reimagine the gat for a modern setting. Design studio TOSO created the winning entry, the Gat Umbrella, which is exactly what it sounds like. This is part of the MU (the official merchandise brand of the National Museum Foundation of Korea) competition that invites designers to reinterpret historical objects into something that can actually be used in modern times. It’s a brilliant initiative that bridges Korea’s rich cultural heritage with contemporary everyday life.
The Gat Umbrella looks like a regular umbrella when folded, but when opened, it looks like you’re standing under a huge gat, with the added bonus of an actual canopy to keep you dry. It’s around 33 inches long and has a width of 1,050 millimeters when opened. Screen time management has spawned an entire industry of apps, built-in focus modes, notification filters, and weekly usage reports that most people glance at and promptly ignore. The fundamental problem with all of them is that they live on the same device you’re trying to avoid, which keeps willpower in charge of the whole arrangement. And willpower, predictably, tends to lose that particular argument somewhere around the third notification.

Neither mode traps you completely. An emergency reset function exists for genuine urgency, but it isn’t quiet about it. Triggering it sounds a one-minute alarm and leaves a RESET mark displayed on the case for 24 hours afterward. The friction is deliberate, designed to make the difference between an actual emergency and a momentary craving feel tangible rather than theoretical.
Two additional modes round out the four-mode system for lighter use. Time Display shows the time without any lock, while a Timer mode runs a count-up or countdown without physically securing the phone. GUNNAR glasses vs. f.lux and Windows 11's Night Light
I've used apps like f.lux and Windows 11 features such as Night Light to filter out blue light from my PC screen. I still recommend those apps to anyone who wants to reduce eye strain or who works late at night.
I was, however, surprised how much the GUNNAR glasses felt different than using software to reduce blue light.
I'm not an eye doctor or any type of medical professional, so please take my experience as simply a hands-on with the GUNNAR glasses. When I put them on, it felt like the entirety of my eyes could relax rather than just having a specific screen filtered.
While apps like f.lux are great, they don't do anything to filter out blue light from overhead lighting or any other light sources in your room. Slipping on a pair of GUNNAR glasses came much closer to filtering blue light out of the entire room.
This particular model of GUNNAR glasses rests quite close to my face, though they have models that wrap around even more.
I'm sure that part of the improved experience is mental. My mind feels like it can relax my eyes, so my face follows. With the glasses on, I caught myself squinting or flexing my face less.
I'm not sure if accidentally working an extra hour is a good thing or a bad thing, but if I can harness the experience for my normal working hours, I'll be very excited. I plan to use these GUNNAR glasses and some other frames over the coming weeks and will follow up with how things go.

Slipping on the GUNNAR Novato Onyx glasses instantly reduced my eye strain.
Camera batteries are one of those accessories that photographers never think about until something goes wrong. They’re small enough to vanish into the bottom of a bag or a jacket pocket, common enough to own several of and regularly mix up, and important enough that losing one mid-trip can force an early stop to a shoot. The solution most people reach for is buying more of them, which only increases the number of things to keep track of.
The FALCAM TagBatt addresses the problem from inside the battery itself. Compatible with Sony’s NP-FZ100 form factor, it integrates Apple’s Find My tracking technology directly into the cell, so the battery carries its own location data wherever it goes. If it ends up left behind at a studio, a venue, or the seat pocket of a flight, the Find My app will flag it and show its last known position.
Because the tracker lives inside the battery rather than clipped to a camera strap or screwed into a cage mount, it’s considerably harder to spot. An opportunistic thief who grabs a camera bag and removes any obvious Bluetooth puck from the outside can’t strip out what’s already built into the power source. It’s the kind of discreet integration that external trackers can’t quite replicate, no matter how small they get.
The tracking isn’t the only thing the TagBatt changes about how a camera battery behaves. A built-in USB-C port lets it charge directly from any standard USB-C source, including a power bank or a travel adapter, without needing the dedicated Sony battery charger that typically takes up its own space in a kit bag. Pop it out of the camera, plug it in overnight, and it’s ready in the morning without routing around a charger at all.
Capacity comes in at 2,600mAh against the OEM Sony NP-FZ100’s 2,280mAh, which translates to a modest but real advantage per charge. An advanced decoding chip handles the communication with the camera’s internal systems so the body treats it as it would any genuine battery, with accurate charge-level reporting and none of the “non-genuine battery” warning messages that typically accompany third-party cells.
Compatibility covers a wide sweep of Sony’s current lineup, including the Alpha 7 series through the Alpha 7 V, the Alpha 9 series, the Alpha 6700, the FX3 and FX30, and the ZV-E1, among others. A Canon LP-E6 version is also available now, with Nikon EN-EL15 and Fujifilm NP-W235 versions confirmed to be in development.
At $69.99, the TagBatt costs more than a standard third-party replacement but considerably less than the Sony original, and it comes with two capabilities that the original simply doesn’t offer. For photographers who travel frequently, work in locations where gear occasionally goes astray, or are just tired of carrying a charger they’d rather leave at home, the trade-off makes a fairly straightforward case.
The multi-tool has been around long enough that most people have developed a frustrated relationship with it. You carry one because having a blade, a screwdriver, and a bottle opener in one place sounds practical, and then you grumble when you actually need something. Getting to the right tool means prying at a tightly packed frame with both hands, and that dynamic hasn’t changed much in decades.
GEO, designed by Invento Design, takes issue with that familiar frustration. Rather than folding tools out from a layered frame, it uses a patent-pending rotating disc mechanism that cycles through five tools, exposing each one through a single opening. It’s a deceptively simple reframing of an old idea, and one that makes you wonder why nobody had taken this approach before.

The way it works is fairly intuitive. Outer index levers let you rotate the internal mechanism until the tool you want lines up with the access window. A sliding lock then holds the selected tool in position before you start. The whole operation happens in one hand, without setting anything down first or needing a second hand to hold the frame steady.
The five tools cover a surprisingly practical range of everyday needs. You’d reach for the blade and scraper when a label refuses to peel cleanly, the box opener when a taped-up package isn’t cooperating, the bottle opener at the end of a long day, the flathead driver for a loose screw or a stubborn paint can lid, and the string cutter when scissors aren’t anywhere nearby.
Carrying something with a blade in your pocket raises the obvious question of what happens when it isn’t in use. GEO handles this with a dedicated safety mode, a neutral rotational position where no edges are exposed. The sliding lock serves a separate purpose, preventing the mechanism from turning mid-task. Together, they make it safe enough to pocket, clip to a belt, or drop into a bag.
The form factor makes carrying it a fairly easy decision. At 53.5mm in diameter and only 8.7mm deep, GEO lands somewhere between a large coin and a watch face. The integrated belt clip adds some depth but keeps the total thickness under 15mm. It fits in a jeans pocket, clips to a gear bag, or disappears into a drawer without demanding much space.
There’s something worth noting about how it actually feels to use, too. The rotation isn’t purely functional but also incredibly satisfying. Each position clicks into place with enough tactile feedback that you know exactly where you’ve landed, and the smooth lever action makes it oddly enjoyable to cycle through even when nothing needs doing. It tends to stay in your hand a bit longer than the task requires.
The construction does a good job of reinforcing the premise. GEO’s tool body is milled from 440C stainless steel hardened to 57–59 HRC, placing it in the same material territory as quality kitchen blades. Cover panels come CNC-machined from either 6061-T6 aluminum or Grade 5 titanium, with internal hardware in 304 stainless steel throughout, a quietly serious specification for something this compact.
GEO isn’t meant to replace the full-size tools sitting in workshop drawers or on a fully loaded belt. It’s better understood as something for the other moments: the stubborn tape, the loose screw, the cord that needs a clean cut. Its compact, circular form makes it easy enough to keep close that reaching for it becomes the natural first move rather than an afterthought.
Magnetic keyboards used to feel like a side quest in the keyboard world. You either bought one from a tiny boutique brand and hoped the firmware wasn’t held together with duct tape, or you ignored the whole category because it felt too experimental.
Now Razer has stepped in with its first Hall Effect Magnetic Huntsman keyboards, and that changes everything. When a company with global retail presence decides magnetic switches matter, it suddenly becomes a lot easier for regular players to try the tech without worrying about sketchy support or limited availability.

Design and build

Both keyboards share the same DNA: aluminum top plate, doubleshot PBT keycaps, and dense internal foam that gives each keystroke a quieter, more muted sound. Razer told me they added extra lubrication and a “very dense layer of foam to absorb high‑pitch pinging noises,” and I can hear the difference. These boards sound cleaner than the Huntsman AK and even the V3 Pro.
The TKL gives you the arrow keys and navigation cluster, which I prefer for writing and general use. The Mini 65% keeps the arrows but trims the rest, which frees up desk space and feels great for shooters.
Razer confirmed both models have full feature parity, so you’re choosing layout, not capability.
Magnetic switches explained

Hall Effect switches use magnets and sensors to track key travel. There’s no physical contact point, which means the keyboard can detect exactly how far a key has moved. That unlocks features that optical or mechanical switches can’t do as well.
Razer calibrates every switch at the factory. They told me:
"Hall Effect boards are prone to interference from environmental factors… metal desks, magnets, metal objects."
Instead of pretending this isn’t an issue, Razer built a calibration tool directly into Synapse. If your desk or environment causes drift, you can reset the keyboard back to factory accuracy in three guided steps. I didn’t run into interference myself, but I like knowing the fix is built in.
Actuation is fully adjustable from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm, and you can tune each key individually. I set WASD to 1.2 mm for shooters and left the rest at 2.0 mm for typing. The onboard adjustment tools make this easy.
Razer also claimed:
“We are the most accurate Hall Effect board available to players.”
They admitted true 0.1 mm accuracy is impossible because “pushing two magnets together is damn near impossible,” but their margin of error is small enough that I never noticed inconsistency.
Latency and performance

Razer pairs the switches with true 8000 Hz HyperPolling. They measured the HE Magnetic at 0.6 ms latency, which is only 0.12 ms behind their analog optical switches. That’s impressive for a first‑generation magnetic design and still faster than other Hall Effect keyboards by about eight percent.
I can’t measure latency myself, but the keyboards feel snappy. Movements in Counter‑Strike 2 and Valorant felt crisp, and Rapid Trigger made counter‑strafing easier.
Movement‑focused features

This is where the HE Magnetic line stands out. Razer didn’t just add magnetic sensing. It built a suite of features that take advantage of it.
Rapid Trigger — Keys reset as soon as they start moving upward. This helps you stop moving faster in shooters, which tightens your hitbox and improves accuracy.
Snap Tap — This prevents two directional keys from actuating at the same time. If you press D while holding A, the keyboard prioritizes the latest input. It makes counter‑strafing more reliable.
Snap Flex — You can bind two actions to a single press. For example, pulling a grenade pin and jumping at the same time. It simplifies multi‑key combos.
Dynamic Keystroke — Up to four actions can be assigned to a single key based on press depth and release. This is powerful and a little scary. I’m curious to see what players come up with.
Dual‑Keypress Priority — This keeps diagonal movement stable. If you’re holding W and A, pressing D won’t override the movement until you release A.
Good Molly, that's a lot of software tech, but while it may not make a difference if you play Brotato (like me; don't judge, it's great), for first-person competitive shooters, it all can absolutely improve your performance and enjoyment of the game. There is a bit of a learning curve here, and all of that is optional to use, but while Razer sometimes catches flak for Synapse, I can't help but feel these are some real value-plays.
Now, some of these are "launch-exclusive" to the HE Magnetic line, for now, but Razer hinted that these features will eventually trickle out to other Huntsman keyboards, likely in the coming months.
TKL vs Mini 65%

I think most people buying keyboards today know Tenkeyless (TKL) versus Mini 65%, but just in case you don't, here's the recap, as I’ve used both layouts for years, and the choice is simple.
Choose the TKL if:

You want dedicated navigation keys
You prefer a familiar layout
Choose the Mini 65% if:
You want more mouse space
You travel or attend LANs
You want a compact gaming setup
Both keyboards have identical features. You’re choosing workflow, not capability.
Personally, I go TKL or even Compact / 96% Full‑Size like the 2026 Razer Huntsman Signature Edition ($499), as I like having media keys and arrow keys but detest numberpads.
Mini-65% is adorable and shockingly portable (great!), but you may end up missing some functions if you use it for more than competitive-ish gaming. No arrow keys is a move; let's just say that.
Either way, it's great that Razer gives you the choice.

The new Razer Huntsman V3 HE Magnetic TKL is $139.99, and the Mini is $119.99. That’s cheaper than Razer’s Pro models and competitive with other magnetic keyboards. Some boutique Hall Effect boards cost more and don’t have Razer’s distribution or warranty support. That alone makes these easier to recommend.
Launch date is today, July 30, so they should be available globally and shipping out to third-party sellers, including Amazon (HE Magnetic TKL; HE Magnetic Mini 65%) and Best Buy.

Typing feels smooth and consistent. The foam and lubrication help, and the magnetic sensing gives each key a clean, predictable feel. I prefer deeper actuation for writing, and the keyboards handled that well.

And as someone who has gone through something like 5 of these Huntsman variations in the past months, all I can say is I don't think I'll be jumping to anything else anytime soon. Even as someone who does more gaming on their MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ and Xbox Series X, these Huntsman just feel good to use, whether for typing or gaming.

Technology rarely stands still, and having a job like this means seeing newer, better, faster hardware on a regular basis. But through all of the upgrades I've made in the last decade, there's one piece of tech that has been with me throughout and won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Fast forward 9 years and I'm still happy gaming at 1440p and still happy at 165Hz. Could I do 4K? Sure, I'm fortunate to be running an RTX 5090 these days. Could I do more frames? Absolutely.
I've tested laptops and monitors with higher resolution and/or refresh rates far in excess of 165Hz and never once felt I needed more in my own setup. Playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 at 240Hz rather than 165Hz is not going to suddenly change the game for me. It certainly won't help a gamer in his forties be any better at it.
For day-to-day use, I've long felt 120Hz is the sweet spot. I only really use 165Hz because this monitor has a factory overclock, so why not?

But it has everything I need. The color isn't the absolute greatest, but 98% sRGB is fine for my needs since I don't do any serious color accuracy work, and games still look great.
Even with an older DisplayPort standard, I haven't yet been held back, and the 1ms response has since been beaten by newer monitors, but again, it was more than enough back then for me, and it's still the same today.
In years past, I also made use of the USB 3.0 hub built into the monitor. Nowadays my desktop PC has enough USB ports that are faster than this that I don't need to. But in the early days it was extremely useful.
Only one area this monitor has started to underperform

Over the lifespan of this monitor, I've also used it hooked up to my Xbox console. It's only here, now, that it's starting to show its age.
The HDMI 1.4 port on the Dell S2417DG is hard-capped at 60Hz, even though it will still support the 1440p native resolution. Even dropping to 1080p, that 60Hz cap applies on this monitor.
It's not a total dealbreaker, since 60Hz has been fine on console for long enough, but with an Xbox Series X I'm not able to make full use of the 120Hz capabilities in supported games using this monitor anymore.
As such, the Xbox Series X has been hooked up to a more modern 1080p monitor with a newer spec HDMI connection. I'll take frame rate over resolution any day.
I don't see the point in 'upgrading' to a newer monitor

Are there better monitors out there? Of course there are. There are plenty with 4K displays, OLED, faster refresh rates, and larger panels.
But I've long felt 1440p is the sweet spot for gaming. I don't have the space for large displays, and having tested higher refresh rate panels, I don't actually feel like I'd be getting anything beneficial.
Call of Duty is the only 'competitive' game I play, and I've got enough FPS to be comfortable in that. Looking at what's out there right now at prices I'd be comfortable paying, I feel like any new monitor would be a sidegrade, less so than an upgrade.
Would I be better off with more up-to-date ports? Most likely I would, but I've been fine for 9 years now without feeling like I'm held back. The old warhorse is still pulling along as well as it ever did.
I'm also a big believer in not adding to e-waste. I could sell this on to someone else, but it works well enough still, so what's the point in that? Times are hard, everything is more expensive than ever before, and you never know when you'll need to cash in a kidney to buy another stick of RAM or an SSD.
I truly can't think of another piece of tech I still own and have used for as long as this monitor consistently. I'm just praying that writing about it doesn't hex the whole thing and I wake up tomorrow and it decides it's had enough...

This was my monitor when it was new. It's got a few marks since then but, otherwise, remained faultless and still keeps up with today's games.
For the past few years, a Logitech MX Vertical has sat on my desk. I've grown to love the mouse so much that I even take it with me when I travel despite it not folding down or being compact in any way. So, when ProtoArc reached out to me about a newer, budget-friendly ergonomic mouse, I was skeptical that Logitech had anything to learn.
The Logitech MX Vertical fits in my hand well, lets my arm rest at a natural angle, charges through USB-C, and has aged well. The ProtoArc EM11 Pro is not exactly a direct competitor to the Logitech MX Vertical since the two mice are in different price brackets. But there are relatively few angled mice out there, at least in comparison to flat mice, so it's natural to pit the ProtoArc EM11 Pro against the Logitech MX Vertical.
Using the ProtoArc EM11 Pro made me realize a few areas the Logitech MX Vertical lags. If Logitech ever refreshed its ergonomic mouse, it should take some lessons from ProtoArc.
Grip and palm fit

The ProtoArc EM11 Pro and the Logitech MX Vertical fill my hand differently. Logitech's mouse lies flush against my palm as my hand contours around the mouse. But the flat front of that mouse leaves a small gap between my fingers and the buttons.
In contrast, the ProtoArc EM11 Pro has an elongated base with a curve that tapers down at a sharper angle than the Logitech MX Vertical. As a result, the mouse does not feel flush against my palm. But the front of the mouse is curved, making the space behind the buttons feel more comfortable.
I'd love to have a mouse that combines the best of both designs since neither mouse is perfect.
Two wheels are better than one

ProtoArc's ergonomic mouse has two scroll wheels, one set for vertical navigation and the other for scrolling horizontally. I didn't realize how much I wanted two scroll wheels until I navigated Excel and Google Sheets with a pair of wheels. I've always just held Shift on my keyboard and used the single scroll wheel when I needed to move horizontally in a spreadsheet, but having a second wheel feels much smoother. It also requires less movement, which is a key part of ergonomic setups.

I work from home, so I don't have any coworkers to irritate with mouse clicking. If anything, my 10-month-old daughter enjoys the Logitech MX Vertical's clicky buttons since she often sits on my lap and plays with my mouse and keyboard.
But if you work in an open office or sit next to someone at school or work, you probably don't want to hear clicking all day. The ProtoArc EM11 Pro is almost completely silent when clicked.
Why I'm sticking with the Logitech MX Vertical
Logitech should take some lessons from the ProtoArc EM11 Pro, but ProtoArc also has some homework to do. ProtoArc's mouse has some lovely features, but I think it either needs a design tweak or an option for people with different-sized hands.
The angle of my hand doesn't feel natural when using the ProtoArc EM11 Pro. The flared bottom makes my hand want to turn over more than I'd like.
Try as I might, I can't find a way to hold the ProtoArc EM11 Pro that feels comfortable. If I place the side of my hand alongside the base, my fingers don't align properly with the buttons. If I slide my hand down so that my fingers align with the buttons, my hand awkwardly presses against the base.
The curvature of the ProtoArc EM11 Pro also makes it feel like I have to curve my hand a bit, rather than rest at a neutral angle.
Ergonomic mice have a learning curve, so I tried ProtoArc's for a while to see if I'd adjust, and it just hasn't — ahem — clicked. But that may be specific to my hand size and shape. I've known people who disliked the feel of the Logitech MX Vertical, so a lot of this comes down to specific users.
Overall, ProtoArc packed its ergonomic mouse with features other companies should envy. I just wish the mouse fit in my hand as well as the Logitech MX Vertical.

Despite its low price, the ProtoArc EM11 Pro has features I miss when switching back to my Logitech MX Vertical.
Leatherman has always been the brand you could count on to do one thing extremely well: pack an absurd number of tools into a deceptively small package. But Garage Batch #009 doesn’t follow that playbook at all, and I think that’s exactly why it’s worth talking about.
The Garage line is Leatherman’s unofficial skunkworks. It’s where the company test-markets experimental tools in limited batches, which means low quantities, no guarantees of a permanent future, and a demographic of buyers who treat a tool drop like a sneaker release. Batch #009, officially named the Adapter, is a ratcheting bit driver that looks unlike anything else in Leatherman’s catalog. Core77 put it best when they noted that if you didn’t know any better, you’d think it was someone’s industrial design school thesis project. That’s not a criticism. It’s kind of a compliment.
The Adapter is built from 3D printed titanium, which gives it that slightly precious, proof-of-concept feel you don’t usually associate with something you’d use to fix a cabinet hinge. It folds at a hinge joint and can be configured in three positions: fully extended for reach, bent at 90 degrees for torque leverage, and folded shut for compact carry. The ratcheting mechanism works in forward, reverse, and locked positions, so you’re not doing that annoying micro-repositioning shuffle every time you need to drive a screw. That alone is a genuinely useful upgrade over most compact bit drivers on the market.
But here’s the part that turns this from “useful niche tool” into “object I want to own”: the handle. Leatherman tucked a wood saw, a metal file, and two bits inside the handle compartment, all secured with a screw cap. They also stowed a mini ballpoint pen and an eyeglass screwdriver in there. If that sounds like the setup for a very organized person’s favorite fidget toy, you’re not wrong. The neon green accent strip on the handle doesn’t exactly scream jobsite. It says something closer to “I paid attention in design school and I have opinions about EDC.”
I want to be honest about the audience here. The Garage line isn’t really for the electrician or the contractor who needs to pull a hundred screws before lunch. It’s for the person who has a Wave on their keychain and a thing for limited-edition objects that are also actually functional. One reviewer summed it up with a note of friendly resignation: “I guess I have to accept the reality that Leatherman is like Supreme now.” That quote has been floating around the internet, and whether it’s a dig or a badge of honor probably depends on who you’re asking. I’d argue it’s both.
The drop sold out fast. High demand on a small batch is Leatherman’s way of gauging whether something deserves to graduate into a full production run, which is a smart and low-risk way to innovate. Not everything from the Garage line makes it. But the Adapter feels like a strong candidate for becoming a permanent fixture, because once you get past the art-project aesthetics, the core concept is genuinely practical.
Compact ratcheting bit drivers with smart storage have a real market. People are constantly trying to slim down their tool kits without sacrificing capability, and a folding driver that also carries your most-reached-for accessories covers a lot of ground in a small footprint. The 3D printed titanium construction keeps it light without making it feel cheap, and the three-position folding system solves an actual ergonomic problem that flat bit drivers have always had.
Whether you’re a gear collector who watches tool drops the way other people watch sneaker releases, or just someone who wants a smarter carry for weekend projects, the Adapter makes a case for itself without needing to oversell anything. Leatherman took a weird swing, and it mostly landed.
The nightstand has become one of the messiest surfaces in a home. A charging cable snaking across the top, a phone lying flat or propped against whatever happens to be nearby, maybe a watch charger completing the pile. Most accessories designed to address this solve the function while ignoring the furniture, leaving something clinical and plastic sitting next to things that actually belong in a bedroom.
The Valet 4.25 from Twelve South approaches the problem differently. It’s a compact leather catchall tray with a 25W Qi2 wireless charger built into one end, sized specifically for nightstands and bedside tables. The idea isn’t to be a charger that fits in a room; it’s to be an object that actually belongs there, starting with its materials and ending with how it behaves overnight.
The base is a weighted zinc alloy frame wrapped entirely in Nappa leather, which keeps it planted on the surface without rubber feet or suction tricks. The tray measures 4.25 inches across, making it a tighter proposition than the brand’s original 7.5-inch Valet but considerably more appropriate for the average nightstand, where every spare inch is already committed to something else.
There’s a small but deliberate feature called the Goodnight Glow. When you set your phone down to charge, the tray pulses a soft light for eight seconds to confirm the connection, then fades completely. It doesn’t stay lit through the night. For something sitting beside you while you sleep, that restraint is more considered than it sounds, and it makes double-checking whether your phone is actually charging almost unnecessary.
The wireless output is a meaningful upgrade over the original Valet, which topped out at 15W via Qi2. The new model delivers 25W, which is the full MagSafe speed that newer iPhones can receive. The smaller size doesn’t come at the expense of performance; if anything, it corrects the one technical criticism that followed the larger model since it launched at CES earlier this year.
The outer frame is removable and interchangeable, available in four leather colors: black, taupe, brown, and ecru. The body itself comes in either black or taupe Nappa leather, giving you enough combination room to match most bedroom furniture without much deliberation. The tray can also be oriented four ways, letting you position the charging pad on either side or rotate the whole thing to fit a narrower nightstand.
There’s a USB-C port tucked under the base for a second device, though at 10W it’s a step down from the 35W the larger Valet offers. It’ll handle a pair of earbuds or a smartwatch overnight, but it’s not fast-charging territory. The smaller tray is the other concession, reducing the landing area for everyday items compared to what the 7.5-inch version can comfortably hold alongside a phone.
At $129.99, it’s $50 less than the larger model and carries the same premium material finish. The Valet 4.25 is narrowly focused for a specific spot in the home, the kind where spending more on something you see every morning is easier to justify when it actually looks right. The Nappa leather and zinc alloy construction give it a permanence that most chargers, regardless of cost, rarely manage.

MOFT apparently did think about it, and the result is one of the more genuinely interesting design stories to come out of the tech accessories space in recent memory.

MOFT combined spent coffee grounds with waterborne bio-based polyurethane to create what they’re calling a new generation of bio-based leather. The material replaces both conventional leather and traditional synthetic alternatives, which makes the origin story feel less like a marketing angle and more like an actual shift in how the brand approaches materials.
MOFT has already built a strong reputation for thoughtful material choices. Their MOVAS vegan leather line has been a staple in the premium accessories space for a while now, known for that soft, slightly textured finish that feels surprisingly luxurious on a phone MagSafe stand. The MOVAS-E Coffee Collection takes that established foundation and adds a genuine layer of purpose to it, pushing the material story well beyond aesthetics and into something more intentional.
The collection includes products like a laptop Carry Sleeve, all finished in warm, coffee-toned colorways that look like they were pulled straight from a specialty café mood board. The tones are earthy and rich without veering into something overly minimal or clinical. Where I've personally found Turtle Beach to be most exciting is on the higher-end, where the firm has a tendency to really push the envelope with regards to functionality and value.
The Stealth Pro II absolutely encompasses that. Yes, it isn't cheap, but it comes in at a comparable price to lifestyle Bluetooth headsets that offer far less functionality and features, often with subpar durability and audio.
With the Stealth Pro II, I'm sitting here well and truly asking myself if this headset isn't just a competitor in the gaming space, but also the general everyday lifestyle space. At $349.99, it's not exactly what I'd call cheap, but that seems to have become the standard for headsets that are really pushing the bar when it comes to premium audio and "do everything" specs.
You can swap between two 40-hour batteries, with one permanently charged and ready to go in the transmitter dock. It comes with an additional USB transmitter for PC, with the main charge dock functioning as the radio for Xbox. It also sports Bluetooth 5.3 audio with LDAC, with simultaneous mixing with a USB sound source. It grabs the Hi-Res certification that has become all the rage lately, and boasts a massive speaker upgrade over the previous gen, with dual 60mm drivers and a huge frequency spectrum from 10Hz to 40kHz.
What's it like to actually use, though?

I think this is quite easily Turtle Beach's most attractive headset design. The Stealth Pro of yesteryear was fantastic, but it was still quite bulky in that typical "gamer" way, designed for isolation rather than fashion. Somehow, the 'Beach has managed to thread both needles with a single line here. Absolutely stunning engineering and design here.
The brushed metal speaker plates look great on the outside, and there remains a very subtle Turtle Beach imprint that stays out of the way and won't cramp anyone's style. The speakers are accented with the same metallic trims, and the headband connects with these bending connectors that look very futuristic.
The microphone is simultaneously flip-to-mute and detachable, allowing you to go fully wireless. It has internal microphones as well for taking calls on the go without using the full mic boom.

The tapered cans reduce the visible footprint of the headset, which I feel reduces its visible "bulk" over some of Turtle Beach's previous attempts at a headset like this. And this is without compromising on speaker size or features. The 60mm drivers are a noticeable upgrade over the previous model, with separated tweeters and woofers.
On comfort, this is the only part where I think more attention could've been paid. The headband is made of this odd nylon mesh which, while looking pretty, is actually quite tight and uncomfortable over longer sessions. I imagine it's something one could get used to, but it seems like an odd oversight given how painstaking the rest of the design work is. The mesh is also great at trapping dust and is a bit difficult to clean effectively. Additionally, it doesn't seem to be replaceable ... so if you rip it somehow, you're kind of screwed.
I'm also not a huge fan of the fabric material used on the cushions. While it is comfortable, Turtle Beach's previous materials felt a little smoother on the skin. I am someone who vastly prefers leatherette over fabric, though, so take that as you will.

Where this headset absolutely dominates is audio. This is by a country mile the best-sounding headset Turtle Beach has ever produced. As I write this, I'm listening to Tool at maximum volume and enjoying my very own personal concert in an absolutely vast virtual soundscape with impressive separation, thundering, warm bass, and enjoying distortion-free treble, mids, and highs.
The intros on songs I've been intimately acquainted with for decades come through with details I've not experienced prior. Regardless of what I threw at it, from thundering double bass-peddle metal tracks to haunting electronica, it has been a really really fun time testing this headset out. For music and cinematic delivery, this headset is goosebumps-inducingly good, truly ethereal, regardless of genre. For lifestyle and daily mobile use, it also rocks up with active noise canceling, which is very good too. I put it through its paces with noisy fans and my air filter on maximum settings, and felt myself fully isolated with my Spotify playlist.
But what about gaming?

You can indeed expect a similarly amazing experience in games, too. Rocking up with Overwatch and the review build of Halo Campaign Evolved was as immersive as you might expect. Halo's intro music somehow never fails to enchant, and it's only elevated with a good sound system like these.
Where things get even more impressive, particularly in competitive play, is with Turtle Beach's famed SuperHuman Hearing.
Using the bundled Swarm II app, you can set it to focus either on footsteps or gunshots; there's also a legacy setting for those who prefer the old-school profile. SuperHuman Hearing does negatively impact the "cinematic" feel of games, creating an unnatural soundscape — but that's entirely the point. It's supposed to look for and emphasize sound cues that will give you a tactical advantage. And it does work. Games that are already designed with tactical sound design have always worked well with Turtle Beach's SuperHuman Hearing system, but with this headset it hits another level. If Battlefield 6 or Overwatch were Olympic sports, this headset would probably get you banned for cheating.
Another part of this headset that's utterly impressive is the microphone. It's detachable and sports flip-to-mute capabilities as mentioned, but it also has a miniature shock protector, which I've simply never seen before in a gaming headset.
Above is an audio sample with the headset's AI-powered noise cancellation feature turned on. In the first half, you can hear my voice come through clearly despite having a fan blowing directly on the mic, which is impressive. It sounds a lot better without the fan on, of course, but the clarity is rock solid for gaming comms.
I think I'd even be comfortable dropping my XLR mic and using this headset for actual game streaming, which is not something I find myself saying often these days. Turtle Beach really nailed it across the board when it comes to audio here.

I absolutely adore this headset. The sound is a true pleasure, and it's always a joy when a headset like this delivers so much. It makes the review process fun, as I have an excuse to listen to several albums and play several games as part of my "extensive" testing process ...
I was a bit disappointed with the headband and materials on the earcups. I'm also a bit disappointed that Turtle Beach still can't seem to nail dual-USB sound source mixing, although I admit the requirement for that is pretty niche, and not something 99% of people will actually use. Being able to mix Bluetooth in simultaneously with your Xbox or PC is a nice consolation, though.

You want best-in-class audio on a multi-platform gaming headset.
You're willing to pay a premium for things like ANC and high-end specs.
You're a fan of Turtle Beach's SuperHuman Hearing feature.
Where this headset just shines above all is the sound delivery. The soundscape is incredibly immersive for its category, and the microphone is also a cut above what I'd typically expect from a gaming headset.
At this price point, there aren't really a ton of competitors out there worth considering in this range. I absolutely don't think you'll be disappointed with this if you're a dedicated Xbox and PC gamer who wants a bit of Bluetooth and music capabilities on the side. This is an immaculate "do everything" headset that definitely feels worth the price of admission for me.

The Turtle Beach Stealth Pro II is an absolutely stunning headset that sports arguably some of the best audio reproduction I've experienced in such a fully-featured gaming headset.
Health apps and wearables have become remarkably precise at reading the human body. They can tell you how restorative last night’s sleep was, how stressed your body was during a presentation, and whether your recovery is on track after a hard week. What most of them don’t do, at least not in any concrete way, is hand you a tool to act on what they’ve just told you.
That’s the gap MobiFren founder and CEO Juwon Heo set out to address with the HealingFit TWS, a true wireless earbud built to go beyond standard listening. It earned a CES 2026 Innovation Awards recognition in Headphones and Personal Audio, but the more compelling aspect isn’t the accolade. It’s the design thinking underneath it, and what that thinking could mean for the broader world of digital health.
During normal use, HealingFit TWS functions as a premium pair of true wireless earbuds with Bluetooth 6.0, Hybrid ANC, and five tunable sound modes built on MobiFren’s own MSTS sound tuning system. The shift into wellness mode happens when you attach the Magnetic TES Link, a cable that snaps magnetically onto both earbuds. There’s no separate gadget involved, and no new category of hardware to carry.
TES, or Transcranial Electrical Stimulation, is a non-invasive approach widely studied in neuroscience. HealingFit TWS translates it into a controllable daily routine, running calibrated microcurrents through skin-contact electrodes built into each earbud. The intensity is adjustable across 15 levels, and most people describe the sensation as a subtle, rhythmic pulse. It’s designed to support the nervous system’s natural shift toward rest or focus, not force it there.
Three wellness modes organize the experience. Sleep is the bedtime routine, pairing TES with binaural audio tracks to help you gradually settle for the night. Healing is a shorter session for mid-afternoon or post-work moments when the day has felt relentless. Study is a focus-priming routine to run before anything demanding real concentration. Each mode comes with five dedicated tracks, though you can also layer TES over your own music.
That three-mode framework reads differently from the perspective of a digital health platform. Platforms like Samsung Health, Apple Health, Google Health, and Fitbit have become genuinely capable at detecting sleep quality, stress levels, recovery readiness, and daily activity. They generate scores, flag patterns, and surface recommendations. What they don’t typically offer is a connected, device-level way to act on those signals in the moment they appear.
HealingFit TWS addresses that with an open Bluetooth LE interface that developers and platform teams can connect to without a licensing fee or a proprietary SDK. The technical entry point is UUID 0xBE00, and documentation is publicly available through mobifrenglobal.com. The intent is clear: the earbud becomes the intervention hardware, while the app or platform provides the health context that determines when and which session a user might benefit from.
Think about what that could look like in practice. A sleep app detecting elevated pre-bed stress could suggest a Sleep session. A recovery platform flagging low readiness after a demanding training week could prompt a Healing routine. A focus tool that spots declining concentration before a deadline could surface the Study mode. In each case, the platform has done its analysis. HealingFit TWS handles what comes after.
The core architecture places a TES-generating circuit inside one earbud, with electrodes on the front of each earbud that contact the ear canal, and a TES Link cable that connects both earbuds. What makes the TES architecture appealing to hardware teams isn’t just the open API. There are also registered patents in Korea and Japan, as well as a published application in Europe. FCC certification was granted on July 1, 2026.
Heo founded MobiFren in February 2002, originally as a contract developer for Samsung Electronics feature phones. The company started building its own Bluetooth audio products in 2005 and brought its first Bluetooth earphones to market in 2006. MobiFren has maintained an ongoing relationship with Samsung through smartphone software verification work ever since. That two-decade grounding in Bluetooth audio is what gives HealingFit TWS its engineering footing.
The choice to build this platform on earbuds specifically is, in that context, a deliberate one. Earbuds are already the personal technology closest to the human body for most of the waking day. They’re phone-paired, habitually worn, and typically owned by the same people most likely to be using a health app. Embedding TES therapy into a device people already carry daily removes most of the adoption barrier entirely.
The hardware reflects that audio-first foundation. Alongside the TES system, HealingFit TWS delivers up to 6.5 hours of playback and up to 4.5 hours in TES mode, with Hybrid ANC, three microphones per side, and wear detection for auto-pause when an earbud is removed. Both earbuds and the Magnetic TES Link cable dock in a cylindrical charging case finished in anodized aluminum, designed to carry without fuss.
What Heo is ultimately proposing is a platform category that doesn’t quite have a name yet. His comparison is to how true wireless earbuds, from AirPods to Galaxy Buds, turned personal audio into a mainstream daily habit. The longer ambition is for this patented TES architecture to be adopted into future products from those same companies, giving their health platforms a connected hardware layer for the signals they already detect.
The more compelling case might be for the health platforms themselves. Apple Health, Google Health, Samsung Health, and Fitbit have spent years becoming sophisticated at detecting when something is off: poor sleep, elevated stress, slow recovery. What they don’t yet widely offer is a hardware path from that detection to user-controlled action. HealingFit TWS was built to be exactly that path, and it’s open to anyone willing to test it.
That’s a bold bet, and the category he’s describing doesn’t fully exist yet. But HealingFit TWS makes a credible early case for it, with a patent-allowed architecture, open developer access, and a hardware design that doesn’t ask users to change anything about how they already carry and use earbuds every day.
Remote work has fundamentally changed how often people need access to devices they aren’t sitting in front of. The tools built for this, however, haven’t kept up. Software-based remote access drops the moment a device sleeps or the screen locks, traditional KVMs demand a tangle of HDMI, USB, power, and Ethernet cables, and phones and tablets have been left out of the picture entirely.
GL.iNet, the Hong Kong-based networking company behind a range of popular OpenWrt routers, has built the Comet Q to tackle all three of those problems at once. Officially designated the GL-RMQ1, it’s described as the world’s first browser-based, pocket-sized remote-control device built specifically for USB-C devices, covering laptops, phones, tablets, and Mac minis. You plug it in, open a browser, and you’re in.
What sets the Comet Q apart is that it operates at the hardware level, not through software installed on the target device. That distinction matters more than it sounds. Traditional remote desktop software relies on the operating system and an active network connection, failing the moment a device sleeps, locks, or loses Wi-Fi. The Comet Q keeps working through all of that, as long as the device stays powered on and hasn’t entered a hibernation state that cuts off its HDMI/USB output.
That control comes through a single USB-C cable that simultaneously carries video, data, and power, doing away with the HDMI dongle and USB hub that traditional KVMs require. Video output reaches up to 2K at 60 fps with two-way audio, and a built-in USB-C passthrough port means the device being controlled stays charged throughout the session. It’s a genuinely pocket-sized setup that actually earns that description.
Where the Comet Q breaks new ground is with mobile devices. No KVM was ever built for them, and if something went wrong remotely, there was no clean solution short of being physically present. It connects directly through the USB-C port, working with iPhones from the iPhone 15 onward (excluding the iPhone 16e and later budget models), iPads, and a wide range of Android phones and tablets, provided the port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode.
All of that also means the OS combination no longer matters. Users can control an iPhone from a Windows PC, a MacBook from an Android tablet, or an iPad from a Linux machine. Developers can manage test devices without being at their desks, IT teams can monitor a fleet of phones from one interface, and content creators can run a dedicated recording device from anywhere in the same room.
There’s a surprisingly personal side to this.
